Setup Work Codes in ProPunch Follow
Work Codes are categories of different labor breakdowns used within a company to allocate and track time. The application allows up to 3 work code lists to be configured with any number of entries in each list.
Once the work codes are defined, employees can select them when clocking in by clicking the Transfer button on the ProPunch login page or on My Current Timesheet after logging into ProPunch.
Note:
- An error will occur when attempting to delete a work code that has been used, i.e., assigned on an employee profile or timesheet entry.

The Transfer button will only appear if the following options are enabled in Global Punch Settings (under Company Setup > General Settings):

To configure work codes, follow these steps:
- Log in to the ProPunch application with an administrator profile.
- Click on Company Setup >> Work Codes.
- Check the associated box in the Enabled column to activate a work code list.
- Select Prompt On Punch to allow employees to choose work codes from the list when punching via the software portal.
- Enter a Name for the work code list, which can be up to 50 characters.
- Click Save.
- Click the Edit for the work code list.
- Click the Add Work Code. The New Work Code window will appear.
- Enter:
- Name – Up to 50 characters allowed.
- Abbreviation – Up to 6 characters allowed.
- Payroll Code – Up to 32 characters allowed.
- Click Save.
To edit a Work Code, follow these steps:
- Go to Company Setup >> Work Codes and click Edit for the work code list.
- Click Edit for the work code to be edited.
- Click Save.
To delete a Work Code, follow these steps:
- Go to Company Setup >> Work Codes and click Edit for the work code list.
- Click Delete for the work code to be removed.
