E-38 Error on the ES700 Time Recorder Follow
The E-38 Error on the ES700 indicates the printer head motor or the sensor is not operating properly. This can occur if the ribbon is jammed or the area is dirty.
Step 1: Press the Push Bar with the Ribbon Removed
To resolve an E-38 error, begin by removing the ribbon from the time recorder and pressing the push bar with the ribbon removed using the following steps:
- Remove the ribbon from the time recorder.
- With the ribbon out of the recorder, press the push bar 1 time.
- Before you return the ribbon to the clock make sure the ribbon is advancing properly by turning the knob on top of the ribbon cassette.
- Re-insert the ribbon.
- Turn the knob on the ribbon again to make sure the ribbon is tight inside the clock.
- Attempt a print.
Step 2: Press the White Feet toward the Back of the Clock
If that does not resolve the issue, locate the 2 white feet located on the floor of the recorder that stick up from the bottom. Press them toward the back of the clock, this should activate the printing process.
Step 3: Reset the Clock
If neither solutions resolves the issue, you can reset the device using the reset button. If you reset the time recorder, you will need to re-input all your settings as will reset the clock back to the factory setting.
