ES900 Password Guide Follow
Easily manage the password settings on your ES900 Time Recorder to protect access and ensure security. Once the password is set, you must enter it before changing any settings. All settings must be reset if you forget the password.

When you are setting a digit or an option on the display, flashing means that it is ready to be changed. You must press SELECT until you reach the desired digit or option. Then press SET to lock the desired value in place. Printing is always disabled while settings are being changed. Once the final SET has been completed in any given operation, printing is enabled.
Set a Password
Create a password to restrict access to the settings on the device. You may choose any 4-digit number from 0001 to 9998. Numbers "0000" and "9999" are not valid passwords.
To set the password on the ES900:
- Unlock the unit and remove the cover. Refer to our Getting Started article for how to Open the Unit.
- Press SELECT until the arrow is above PASSWORD. The first two digits will begin to flash.
- Press CHANGE until the first two digits match the first two digits of your password.
- Press SET. The last two digits will begin to flash.
- Press CHANGE until the last two digits match the last two digits of your password.
- Press SET until the unit returns to normal operation mode.
- Replace the cover and lock the unit. Refer to our Getting Started article for how to Close the Unit.
Enter the Password
After creating a password, you will need to enter the password in order to access any settings on the time recorder.
To enter the password on the ES900:
- Press SELECT.
- The numbers 9999 will display and the first two digits will flash.
- Press CHANGE until the first two digits match your password.
- Press SET. The Flashing will change to the last two digits.
- Press CHANGE until the last two digits match your password.
- Press SET twice.
Cancel the Password
If you forgot or don't know your password, enter "0000" to cancel password activation. This will revert the device to Factory Default Settings. You will need to re-set all settings.
