ES900 Print Number Settings Follow
If you have selected a Print Option that includes numbering, you can adjust the numbering settings to fit your needs. These settings allow you to choose how many digits are printed, how often a number repeats, and whether the number resets. Prior to setting up Numbering Print, ensure you have set up the Print Order Option to allow Numbering Print (options 19 through 29).

When you are setting a digit or an option on the display, flashing means that it is ready to be changed. You must press SELECT until you reach the desired digit or option. Then press SET to lock the desired value in place. Printing is always disabled while settings are being changed. Once the final SET has been completed in any given operation, printing is enabled.
Number of Digits
The Number of Digits on the printout can be from 1 to 8 digits.
To change the number of digits on the ES900:
- Unlock the unit and remove the cover. Refer to our Getting Started article for how to Open the Unit.
- Press SELECT until the arrow points to NUMBER. The flashing digit will indicate "Number Digit".
- Press CHANGE until the Number Digit is the number of digits you want to print.
- To move on to setting the number of times a number will repeat, press SET once and continue at step 4 in the next section.
- To complete your selection, press SET until the unit returns to normal operation mode.
- Replace the cover and lock the unit. Refer to our Getting Started article for how to Close the Unit.
Set How Many Times a Number will Repeat
Select how many times each number prints before it increases. You can set this from 0 (the number will never increase) to 9 times.
To change the number of times a number repeats on the ES900:
- Unlock the unit and remove the cover. Refer to our Getting Started article for how to Open the Unit.
- Press SELECT until the arrow points to NUMBER.
- Press SET until the flashing digit changes from "Number Digit" to "Repeat Times".
- Press CHANGE until the Repeat Times matches the number of time you want a number to repeat.
- To move on to setting the reset option, press SET once and continue at step 4 in the next section.
- To complete your selection, press SET until the unit returns to normal operation mode.
- Replace the cover and lock the unit. Refer to our Getting Started article for how to Close the Unit.
Set the Reset Options
Select if and how the numbering resets.
Reset Options
Option | Description | Reset Occurs |
1 | Disabled | The number will not reset. |
2 | Return to the Initial Number | The number will reset at midnight. |
3 | Return to 0 | The number will reset at midnight. |
To change how the print number resets:
- Unlock the unit and remove the cover. Refer to our Getting Started article for how to Open the Unit.
- Press SELECT until the arrow points to NUMBER.
- Press SET until the flashing digit changes from "Repeat Times" to "Reset Options".
- Press CHANGE until the Reset Options matches your preferred reset option according to the chart above.
- To move on to setting the initial number, press SET once and continue at step 2 in the next section.
- To complete your selection, press SET until the unit returns to normal operation mode.
- Replace the cover and lock the unit. Refer to our Getting Started article for how to Close the Unit.
Initial Number
The initial number determined the starting point for the numbering sequence. Up to 8 digits can be set, depending on the number of digits set.
To set the initial number on an ES900:
- Unlock the unit and remove the cover. Refer to our Getting Started article for how to Open the Unit.
- Press SELECT until the arrow points to INITIAL NUMBER. The flashing digit "-" indicates the 1st digit of the initial number.
- Press CHANGE until the 1st digit matches the first digit of your initial number.
- Press SET to set the number. If you have additional digits, the next digit will appear.
- Repeat steps 3 and 4 until all digits are entered.
- Press SET until the unit returns to normal operation mode.
- Replace the cover and lock the unit. Refer to our Getting Started article for how to Close the Unit.
