Firewall Connection Issues with ProPunch Follow
If you are experiencing communication issues between the ProPunch Server and client PC or software and clock, your firewall or antivirus software may be blocking the connection. This can occur when you are adding a new time clock; you have properly configured the clock and can ping it, but encounter issues adding it to the software. You may need to temporarily turn off the firewall or add the following files and ports to your firewall or antivirus software.
To whitelist the files and ports for ProPunch v3.x.xx:
- Open your firewall/antivirus software.
- Add the following files to the exceptions or whitelist:
- C:\xampp\apache\bin\httpd.exe
- C:\xampp\htdocs\AcroprintWeb\service\pp-service.exe
- C:\xampp\mysql-8.2\bin\mysqld.exe
- Add the following UDP/TCP ports to the exceptions or whitelist:
- Port 5005
- Port 7788
- Save your changes and restart your computer if necessary.
Note: For ProPunch v2 and below, mysqld.exe is located in a separate folder. Add C:\xampp\mysql\bin\mysqld.exe to the exception list instead of C:\xampp\mysql-8.2\bin\mysqld.exe.
