Create ProPunch Shortcut

IMPORTANT NOTE: The information contained in this section is for informational purposes only and is only intended to provide guidance for network administrators.

Creating a desktop shortcut can be helpful for quick access to the software application.

Notes:

• The following steps must be completed on the pc/server where the ProPunch server is installed.

• For guidance on creating a custom URL to access ProPunch, please reference the section Create Custom URL.

To create a shortcut, follow the steps below:

1. On the computer/server on which the ProPunch server is installed, open a command prompt window by pressing at the same time the Windows Logo key (between the left Ctrl and Alt key on the keyboard) and the letter R. The Run/Open prompt will appear.
2. Type cmd and press OK.
   
   
   
   
3. In the command prompt, type ipconfig and press Enter.
   
   
4. Locate the IPv4 Address (see example in image above). This value will be used to create the ProPunch shortcut.
5. Right-click the background on the Windows desktop and choose New > Shortcut.
6. Type http://IPv4Address replacing IPv4Address with your IPv4 Address and click Next.
   • In the example below, the IPv4 Address of the ProPunch Server is 192.168.1.64.
     
     
     
     
7. Enter ProPunch for the shortcut name and click Finish.
   
   
   
   
8. The shortcut will then appear on the desktop and can be sent to other clients as needed.
