ES700 Print Direction Settings: Left or Right Margins and Activation: Automatic, Semi-Automatic, Manual Follow

Adjust the Print Direction and Print Activation settings to set the margin alignment and how the printout is triggered. Both settings can be configured together for a quick and easy customization.

When you are setting a digit or an option on the display, flashing means that it is ready to be changed. You must press SELECT until you reach the desired digit or option. Then press SET to lock the desired value in place. Printing is always disabled while settings are being changed. Once the final SET has been completed in any given operation, printing is enabled.

 

Print Direction

The Print Direction determines whether the text will align with the right or left margin.

 

Print Direction Options

Option Print Direction
1 Right-Hand Margin
2 Left-Hand Margin

 

To change the print direction on the ES700:

  1. Unlock the unit and remove the cover. Refer to our Getting Started article for how to Open the Unit.
  2. Press SELECT until the arrow An arrow icon. points to PRINT DIRECTION/PRINT ACTIVATION. The flashing digit indicates "Print Direction Options".

  3. Press CHANGE until the display option matches your preferred print direction according to the Print Direction Options table above.
  4. To move onto the Print Activation setting, press SET once and continue at step 4 in the next section. Otherwise, press SET until the unit returns to normal operation mode.
  5. Replace the cover and lock the unit. Refer to our Getting Started article for how to Close the Unit.

 

Print Activation

The Print Activation, or Print Method, controls how printing is triggered, i.e. automatic, semi-automatic, manual, or a combination.

 

Print Activation Options

Option Print Method
1 Automatic - Allows you to print by inserting a card or piece of paper.
2 Semi-Automatic - Allows you to print by pressing the push bar. It will only activate when a card or piece of paper is inserted and reaches the sensor. 
3 Manual - Allows you to print by pressing the push bar. It will activate even if the card or paper does not reach the sensor.
4 Combination - Allows you to print by pressing the push bar or inserting a card or piece of paper. If the card or paper reaches the sensor, it will automatically activate.

 

To change the print activation method on the ES700:

  1. Unlock the unit and remove the cover. Refer to our Getting Started article for how to Open the Unit.
  2. Press SELECT until the arrow An arrow icon. points to PRINT DIRECTION/PRINT ACTIVATION. 
  3. Press SET once. The flashing digit will change from "Print Direction" to "Print Activation".

  5. Press SET until the unit returns to normal operation mode.
