Set the Pay Period on an ATR480 Follow
Set up your preferred pay period on your Acroprint ATR480 Totalizing Time Recorder:
Button Functions
The 1-6 keys on top of the clock serve as function keys in programming mode. The functions are printed on the card door above the column numbers. To enter programming mode, move the black set switch found below the #1 button from Run to Prog.
Button | Function | Purpose |

4 | Back | Press 4 to go to the previous setting. |
5 | Cancel | Press 5 to cancel the set value. |
6 | Mode | Press 6 to move to the next menu. |
Weekly
A weekly pay period means each timecard records 7 consecutive days, covering one full week, resulting in 52 pay periods per year. You will need to specify the day of the week the pay period begins.
To set a weekly pay period on the ATR480:
- Open the front cover using the key.
- Move the black Set switch found under the function keys from Run to Prog (to the right) to enter programming mode.
- Press button 6 (Mode) once to navigate to ES01 (Pay Period Settings).
- Press button 3 (Enter) three times to enter Code 03 (Pay Period Setting). The code is located on the lower left of the screen.
- Press button 1 (+) or 2 (-) to select 01 for a weekly pay period.
- Press button 3 (Enter) to confirm the selection. The device will move to Code 04 (Pay Period Cycle End).
- Press button 1 (+) or 2 (-) to select the first day of the pay period:
- 00: Sunday
- 01: Monday
- 02: Tuesday
- 03: Wednesday
- 04: Thursday
- 05: Friday
- 06: Saturday
- Press button 3 (Enter) to confirm the selection. The device will move to Code 05 (Rounding Rules).
- If you are done, move the Set switch from Prog to Run (to the left) and replace the cover.
Bi-Weekly
A bi-weekly pay period spans 14 consecutive days - each pay period covering two weeks. You will set the last day of the current pay period and the device will adjust automatically for subsequent pay periods.
To set a bi-weekly pay period on the ATR480:
- Open the front cover using the key.
- Move the black Set switch found under the function keys from Run to Prog (to the right) to enter programming mode.
- Press button 6 (Mode) once to navigate to ES01 (Pay Period Settings).
- Press button 3 (Enter) three times to enter Code 03 (Pay Period Setting). The code is located on the lower left of the screen.
- Press button 1 (+) or 2 (-) to select 02 for a bi-weekly pay period.
- Press button 3 (Enter) to confirm the selection. The device will move to Code 04 (Pay Period Cycle End).
- Press button 1 (+) or 2 (-) to select the start month.
- Press button 3 (Enter) to confirm the selection.
- Press button 1 (+) or 2 (-) to select the start day.
- Press button 3 (Enter) to confirm the selection. The device will move to Code 05 (Rounding Rules).
- If you are done, move the Set switch from Prog to Run (to the left) and replace the cover.
Semi-Monthly
Semi-monthly pay periods device the month into two periods (ex. the 1st - 15th and the 16th - last day of the month). You will need to select the day day of the pay period from our available options.
To set a semi-monthly pay period on the ATR480:
- Open the front cover using the key.
- Move the black Set switch found under the function keys from Run to Prog (to the right) to enter programming mode.
- Press button 6 (Mode) once to navigate to ES01 (Pay Period Settings).
- Press button 3 (Enter) three times to enter Code 03 (Pay Period Setting). The code is located on the lower left of the screen.
- Press button 1 (+) or 2 (-) to select 03 for a semi-monthly pay period.
- Press button 3 (Enter) to confirm the selection. The device will move to Code 04 (Pay Period Cycle End).
- Press button 1 (+) or 2 (-) to select the last day of the pay periods.
- 00: the 15th day and the last day month. (1-15, 15-last)
- 01: the 14th day and the 2nd to the last day of the month. (last - 14th, 15th - 2nd to last)
- 02: the 13th day and the 3rd to the last day of the month. (2nd to last - 13th, 14th - 3rd to last)
- 03: the 12th day and the 4th to the last day of the month. (3rd to last - 12th, 13th - 4th to last)
- 04: the 11th day and the 5th to the last day of the month. (4th to last -11th, 12th - 5th to last)
- 05: the 10th day and the 6th to the last day of the month. (5th to last - 10th, 11th - 6th to last)
- 06: the 1st day and the 16th day. (17th - 1st, 2nd - 16th)
- Press button 3 (Enter) to confirm the selection. The device will move to Code 05 (Rounding Rules).
- If you are done, move the Set switch from Prog to Run (to the left) and replace the cover.
Monthly
A monthly pay period means each timecard will include punches for a one-month period. You will need to select the last day of the month for the pay period (ex. the last day of the month) from the available options.
To set a monthly pay period on the ATR480:
- Open the front cover using the key.
- Move the black Set switch found under the function keys from Run to Prog (to the right) to enter programming mode.
- Press button 6 (Mode) once to navigate to ES01 (Pay Period Settings).
- Press button 3 (Enter) three times to enter Code 03 (Pay Period Setting). The code is located on the lower left of the screen.
- Press button 1 (+) or 2 (-) to select 04 for a monthly pay period.
- Press button 3 (Enter) to confirm the selection. The device will move to Code 04 (Pay Period Cycle End).
- Press button 1 (+) or 2 (-) to select the last day of the pay period.
- 00: the last day of the month.
- 01: the 2nd to the last day of the month.
- 02: the 3rd to the last day of the month.
- 03: the 4th to the last day of the month.
- 04: the 5th to the last day of the month.
- 05: the 6th to the last day of the month.
- 06: the 1st day of the month.
- Press button 3 (Enter) to confirm the selection. The device will move to Code 05 (Rounding Rules).
- If you are done, move the Set switch from Prog to Run (to the left) and replace the cover.
Work Mode/No Pay Period
Work Mode or No Pay Period means the device continuously records punches on the timecard. This setting does not support overtime rules, deductions, or maximum hours per day settings.
To set no pay period or "work mode" on the ATR480:
- Open the front cover using the key.
- Move the black Set switch found under the function keys from Run to Prog (to the right) to enter programming mode.
- Press button 6 (Mode) once to navigate to ES01 (Pay Period Settings).
- Press button 3 (Enter) three times to enter Code 03 (Pay Period Setting). The code is located on the lower left of the screen.
- Press button 1 (+) or 2 (-) to select 05 for work mode/no pay period.
- Press button 3 (Enter) to confirm the selection. The device will move to Mode ES02 (Alarm Settings).
- If you are done, move the Set switch from Prog to Run (to the left) and replace the cover.
